We are a small team of present enthusiasts on a mission to eliminate bad gifts from the world, one thoughtful recommendation at a time.
It began with a spreadsheet. Our founder kept a running list of gift ideas every time a friend mentioned something they liked in passing: a book, a kitchen gadget, a particular brand of hot sauce. When birthdays and holidays rolled around, the spreadsheet meant never scrambling for a last-minute gift card.
Friends started asking for access to the list, and before long it had outgrown a spreadsheet. Gifts Galore launched as a simple website to organise all those recommendations into browsable, occasion-based guides that anyone can use.
We only feature products and ideas we would genuinely give to someone we care about. If we would not buy it ourselves, it does not make the list.
Great gifts do not require a great budget. Many of our best recommendations cost less than a takeaway dinner. We label price ranges clearly so you can browse within your comfort zone.
A hundred-dollar gadget someone never uses is a worse gift than a five-dollar notebook that matches their favourite colour. We prioritise relevance and personality over price tags.
Every item in our guides goes through a simple three-question test. Would we personally give this? Does it solve a problem or spark joy for the recipient? Is it available at a fair price from a reputable seller?
We also rely on feedback from readers. When someone tells us a recommendation was a hit, we keep it. When something consistently disappoints, we pull it. The guides are living documents that improve over time.
